The song was released last week as the latest preview of the band's upcoming new album "Medicine At Midnight". The record is set to come out on February 5th.
Directed by Paola Kudacki, the video combines footage of the Foos performing the track with cinematic shots featuring young people. These shots seem to hint at the attitude of the new generation. The youths, who seemingly have a carefree outlook on life, are threatened by a group of ominous adults wearing brown paper bags over their heads.

Speaking about "Waiting On A War" last week, Foos frontman Dave Grohl highlighted the broader meaning behind the track.
"As a kid growing up in the suburbs of Washington, I was always afraid of war," he wrote. "I had nightmares of missiles in the sky and soldiers at my doorstep. Probably due to the political tension of the early 1980s and my proximity to the nation's Capitol. My youth passed under the dark cloud of a hopeless future."
This childhood fear came full circle when his daughter asked him in 2019 whether North Korea was on the verge of war with the USA. Grohl recalled: "She asked me, 'Dad, are we gonna go to war?' It reminded me of how I felt when I was her age. I thought, 'What a fucking thought!'"
"How depressing is it that from childhood this beauty and innocence could be stripped away by this dark feeling of fear? So that's what 'Waiting On A War' is about."
Foo Fighters are among the artists set to perform during Celebrating America. A special TV broadcast that will celebrate the inauguration of US President-elect Joe Biden, on January 20th.
