The Loose Ties: New video for the song 'Gone'

The The Loose Ties are back with a new video! Specifically, the band from Athens has unveiled the video clip for their song 'Gone', which is featured on their album 'Retrospect'. The timing of the release looks to be spot on, since they're expected to take the stage at Rockwood on 15/10 with Δημήτρη Κοβαίο.

On funk and alternative paths

The The Loose Ties were formed in 2017. Their musical style moves around alternative and funk, with English lyrics and groove as the main musical pillar of their sound. The "Gone” is the lead single from the album, Retrospect, released back in 2021, and the band's first music video. It's a song that tells the story of two people through its lyrics, its music, and the choreography of the music video.

An excellent musical showcase

Musically speaking, the ‘Gone‘ has a lot of interesting elements. The sounds of The Loose Ties are generally ‘clean’, without much distortion, while the shifts made by the rhythm section (bass and drums) completely change the texture of the track. Personally, I'd say that beyond funk, the Loose Ties also have elements of progressive rock and jazz. Special color is also given by Despoina's soft yet distinctive vocals, which fit the band's sound perfectly.

The name chosen for the record also carries special meaning for the members. The name Retrospect has to do with the pervasive sense of introspection and nostalgia that's common to the songs on this record, despite whatever sonic differences they may have. Despite the diversity present on the record, a musical cohesion and a unified theme are maintained.

All this stokes our interest and makes us want to hear the whole album!
