The Fuzztones are coming to Greece to a crowd that adores them. Joining them, The Snails on 24 November at Κύτταρο.

The legendary band with the sound that Greece fell in love with, coming from a crowd that adores them, return once again to Athens on 24 November at Κύτταρο (Facebook, Instagram). The The Fuzztones meet up with The Snails for a high-energy night.
The Fuzztones
The The Fuzztones were formed in 1980 with core members guitarist Rudi Protrudi and organist Deb O' Nair. Before that they were part of Tina Peel, a bubblegum punk outfit that shocked people with the sexual subject matter of its songs. The band's name came from the Fuzzbox, a guitar effect that came out in the '60s and was used by pretty much every band in the first garage explosion of 1965-67.
Along with Elan Portnoy, Michael Jay and Ira Elliot they recorded two landmark albums, Leave your mind at home and Lysergic emanations, with the latter reaching number two on the American Charts. Around that time they also had an album under their belt together with Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
Undying New York street cred and filthy cult status
The band broke up around 1986, only to reform two years later as essentially Protrudi's own solo vehicle, based on the West Coast and touring Europe. After two more releases the group split up again, staying inactive for most of the '90s until they got back together in the early 21st century with Deb O' Nair back on organ and Jordan Tarlow, from the group's second lineup, on guitar.
The Snails
The group was formed in 2005 with a musical orientation towards garage rock n' roll and its wide-ranging influences. After lineup changes, the band now stands in the above form. Across the many gigs they've played, they've had the honour of sharing the stage with, among others, Jaybirds, Vibravoid, Baby Woodrose, The Nomads, The Sound Explosion, Frantic V, The Yesterday's Thoughts, Oi Polloi etc.
