The Sugar For The Pill released their second album a month ago, “Luv”, digitally, picking up excellent reviews. Now, “Luv” is out in two vinyl editions, Hot Pink & Ultra Clear, on Shelflife Records (USA) and Make Me Happy records (GR). The album features ten songs through which Sugar For The Pill widen their sonic horizons. They dig deeper into the world of shoegaze and dream pop, while still holding on to the indie and post-punk revival references that define them. Their new sound pays tribute to their "heroes", the likes of Slowdive, Ride, Interpol, Chameleons and Lush. At the same time, it highlights their singularity and their ongoing artistic evolution.
On its new album, the band explores the many-sided nature of love — romance, friendship, nostalgia, acceptance and loss.
At the same time, it invites us to consider the weight of every single moment, underlining how an ending can hold within it the beginning of a new journey. “Luv” is a contemporary soundtrack for inner searching and the soul's endless drifting. The album is an atmospheric and emotionally charged one. It folds the shoegaze tradition into a fresh, Greek identity. Through its dreamlike production and its honest lyric writing, the band stands out on both the domestic and the international dream pop scene.
Its atmospheric melodies stir emotions and send the mind travelling. The record is a superb example of shoegaze music. To discover it, you need to navigate its many layers and move along with its melodies. Only then will you get to taste everything it has to offer.

A band steadily making its name
Their successful shows in the USA and Europe, combined with the international recognition they keep building on, led to them meeting and working with Jordan Lawlor, former member of M83, who handles the mix and co-production of the album alongside the band's regular collaborator Αλέξης Μπόλπασης, who was responsible for the recordings. Mastering is by Daniel Good, while the artwork's art direction was handled by Typical Organization.
The vinyl is available through the bandcamp pages of Shelflife Records and Make Me Happy records , as well as at selected record shops.
