The foundation of Perfect Mess

With rock as their foundation, the Perfect Mess on their new album "Breathe", broaden their musical horizons and give their songs traits from grunge, alternative, metal, emo rock, even funk. In doing so they prove that they wear no label, have no ceiling, and that they're plenty capable of tackling whatever they set their minds to. It's not that easy to cram so many genres into one album and still give it flow, without leaving the listener confused about what's reaching their ears.

The Perfect Mess they move so masterfully and have worked so hard on this album. They manage to create a result that slowly builds up each genre. It exploits 100% the characteristics of each world separately and takes the listener on a journey with a rather beautiful energy that flows flawlessly throughout the record. Hats off to them!

Just as I take my hat off for the skill I notice in the musical performances, as well as in the songwriting.

Listening to the album "Breathe" you come across well-crafted rhythm guitars, enviable riffs, drums with plenty of power, and bass that follows the rhythm flawlessly with its heavy-hitting playing. Of course all of this is woven together and supported beautifully by Σπήλιος Ηλιόπουλος. With his vocals he seduces you and transports you into every genre he serves without a single misstep. Just listen to the songs "Darwin's Recycle”, “Breathe”, “Black Mouth" and "Buttons" and you'll see what kind of work and what kind of compositions we're talking about!

Now as for the lyrics side of things, Perfect Mess seem to stand out from the other bands that have reached us lately. They put special weight on this aspect! They've really done an excellent job. At the same time, they talk about social and environmental issues like climate change or the various situations that tend to destroy the fabric of the society we live in. On the new album "Breathe" you're left hooked on the lyrics too!

So, for all of you who love good music with plenty of stimuli, do yourselves a favour and listen to the new album "Breathe”. It's definitely the best and most complete album in the band's discography so far.
