By Dimitris (Bari) Polyzois

It all started with their debut album «Soap Bubble Dreams» (2019), which received immediate coverage from the international press and was featured in more than 20 magazines, webzines and countless blogs. Everyone unanimously praised the album and compared it to a whole host of artists and bands like: J Mascis, The Cure, Phillip Boa and the Voodoo Club, Arcade Fire, The Mission, The Last Shadow Puppets, Sebadoh and The Editors. Now, Para Lia are back with their new record! The “Gone With The Flow”, as it's called, was followed by an exciting online mixed art exhibition, on October 2, 2020.
It's a self-released project and includes 11 new songs, all written and performed by René Methner and his wife, and bandmate, Cindy.

Music with lots of different elements
The band follows a well-crafted recipe that draws inspiration from various genres of music, blending older musical generations with a modern alternative indie rock character. The band comes to blow you away and leave you with very positive impressions of this second record. It's genuinely commendable how they've managed to make their songs showcase retro elements that we've all come to love. At the same time, these elements are dressed up with a bold dose of freshness and originality, which is what makes the band stand out!
It seems the musical duo from Germany has put in a lot of work on this and has the knowledge, dedication and passion, traits that make the album turn out this amazing. The love that beats through René 's guitar gives a wonderful melodic atmosphere, which combined with his vocals, standing front and center, backed by the accompaniment and grandeur of Cindy's voice, make Para Lia genuinely enchanting and ready to blow you away and turn you into a fan of theirs, if you aren't one already.

Tracks like “My Muse“, “Fade To Grey”, “Kassandra“, “Riders On The Dike (feat. Amanda Kim Sanderson), “Time And Again” and “Kaleidoscope” will definitely stick in your mind, while I'm sure you'll end up enjoying the whole record, which is bound to make you want to listen to it again and again.
In Conclusion
“Gone With The Flow” is a record that satisfies your listening needs in every situation and can keep you company wherever and whenever you want, and honestly I feel really happy that it landed in my hands!
