Κασσάνδρα: Their self-titled debut album is out

The personal project of Jester started taking shape in 2019 alongside K.C.Joe, Γιώργος Μαργαριτόπουλος and Κώστας Μάτης. That's more or less how Κασσάνδρα came to be, and they've just dropped their first album. Κασσάνδρα, who just released their first album.

An interesting debut album

Their first, self-titled, self-released record came out on 29 June 2022 and contains 8 songs. You can find it via Distrokid on all digital platforms and in physical form as a digipack. Through these 8 songs, Κασσάνδρα introduce themselves to the public. The public has already gotten a delightful taste from the singles "Πάρε καρδιά" and "Μαύρος άγγελος". If you haven't heard them yet, you absolutely have to!

On the music

Wearing the veil of good Greek rock, it betrays influences from older generations. At the same time it offers something more contemporary, something catchier. Κασσάνδρα , through their self-titled album, transport us to other eras that aren't easy to come by these days and that you'll definitely want to savour again! In fact, they seem to be well-versed in this particular genre and in that era when Greek rock bands were touring the length and breadth of Greece. You'll be thrilled by the singer's timbre, who has a well-crafted voice that seems ideal for this particular kind of album. Lyrics that are the key

They're the "key point" of this record, and truth be told it had been a while since I'd heard such good Greek-language lyrics. They touch on themes of love. They touch on situations that concern us every day, and ultimately they show us that we can express ourselves really well in our own language through music, if we truly try! And I take my hat off to them for that, because it was the main reason they turned me into a fan of theirs!
