On the occasion of the upcoming festival, tell us a bit about your thoughts. How did it come about? What should we expect from it?
Multivision: ‘After quite some time of good communication and collaboration with Angels Pr, they let us know that SLOW BURNING CAR would be coming from USA and wanted to put on a show in our beautiful Thessaloniki, and that's kind of how the event started coming together.’
Church Of Man: ‘For us, Church Of Man, it came about after a proposal from Multivision. A proposal we were thrilled with and immediately said yes to, because what band wouldn't want to share the stage with 2 other powerful bands at a rock celebration? That's exactly what we think you should expect from the event. 3 bands who love playing their music live and filling the crowd with energy and good vibes.'
What are you up to release-wise at the moment? Is there something you're working on?
Multivision: ‘Right now we're in the middle of recording our second album, which we're preparing, and it should be ready, if all goes well, this summer.'
Church Of Man: ‘On April 1st our 2nd record comes out, titled "The Way To My Head". It's a project we've been working on for a while and we can't wait for it to be heard by the audience on all platforms and live stages. We tried different approaches from those of the first record, but there's still that raw fun element in there, and the intensity, the energy, the outburst against whatever weighs you down. Beyond that, we're constantly working on new material, and as soon as we feel ready again we'll start recording the next record.'
Tell us about your musical style and your influences?
Multivision: ‘In short we're close to the sounds of alternative/indie rock with the influences we pick up from our everyday life and our experiences.'
Church Of Man: ‘There's a particular variety in what the band members listen to, ranging from classic rock and roll, classical music, all the way to folk elements, rebetiko, brit rock, funk disco. The style that wraps all of this together, for us, is called urban rock and it has elements from old U2, Cake, Manic Street Preachers etc.'
Tell us a bit about the band's future plans. Upcoming live shows, upcoming albums…
Multivision: 'Alongside the recordings we're also doing quite a few live shows these days, recently we were at the ROCKING LOUD contest where we actually took first place on the day we played, but simply due to circumstances we couldn't move on to the next rounds.
A few days before the live with Slow burning car and Church of man we'll be in Giannitsa for a protest concert for Tempi, and generally there's quite a few things coming up in the near future, with a big surprise live show this summer that we'll announce in a few days, and of course you'll find out too as soon as it's official!'
Church Of Man: ‘After the release of the upcoming record on April 1st, we'll try to book shows at various festivals happening all over Greece as well as at live venues that we feel suit us.'
To close, give us one reason that would make us show up at the festival.
Multivision: 'It's a unique opportunity to see Slow burning car live, who are coming from very far away, and we'll be playing songs from the record we're recording which haven't been released yet.'
Church Of Man: ‘The most honest and powerful reason is that it's always good to support music, especially when it involves bands from our own city and musicians coming from abroad bringing an equally fresh sound. Beyond that, it's going to be one hell of a magnificent live show with sounds full of energy and a powerful sound. It's the only place in town you need to be on April 2nd.'
