Guns n' Roses – 'Absurd': They dropped a new song

"Absurd" recently showed up in the setlist of Guns N' Roses. It made its first appearance during the band's concert on August 3 in Boston.

"Some of you might have heard this under a different name," admitted Axl Rose to the crowd that night. "But that doesn't make it absurd for us to give it a shot. Funny, right? Okay, not exactly funny. But definitely "Absurd" (Absurd). “

The other name Rose was referring to was 'Silkworms'. 'Silkworms' is an abandoned song from the sessions for their album,Silkworms' is an abandoned song from the sessions for their album, Chinese Democracy. Although the track never made it onto the album, it was played live by the band on four separate occasions in 2001.

The song was written by Dizzy Reed and Chris Pittman

In a 2008 conversation with fans following the release of Chinese Democracy, Rose noted that 'Silkworms' had gone through many changes. Even now, the song has plenty of changes in the guitars, drums, and chorus.Silkworms' had gone through many changes. Even now, the song has plenty of changes in the guitars, drums, and chorus.

Given the song's evolution, it's easy to see why Rose referred to "Absurd" as "a new Guns N' Roses song" during the Boston set. While the two tracks share plenty of similarities, "Silkworms"-like Chinese Democracy-had a strong electronic influence. "Absurd," on the other hand, is packed with guitar solos, a heavy sound, and punchy drums.Absurd" is packed with guitar solos, a heavy sound, and punchy drums.

The track is the first new material released by Guns n' Roses since the classic lineup's reunion in 2016.
