The Brazilian rock band Fusage has just released their second full-length «Outburst Desert» through the label Bananada on all streaming platforms. The album was produced by Rodrigo Sanches (CSS, Céu, Nação Zumbi, Andreas Kisser) and was recorded at the studio Rootsans (Facebook, Instagram) in São Paulo.
With a clear rock orientation
In 2021 the band signed with their new label Festival Bananada and presented 4 tracks from the Bananada BR series. Among them the singles «Fearless Soul» and «Cerberus» as a showcase of their recent work. Described as a sonic dispersion of the band, “Outburst Desert” explores what the quartet could achieve with new ways of composing and recording. All of this under the creative influence of producer Rodrigo Sanches.

About music
The Fusage they manage to grab your interest from the very first second. Through the uniform layers of riffs and the tonal colors emphasized by Jean Cedemachi (the newest member), all the way to the aesthetic approach of the vocals sung in chorus. Even the lyrics, with their political stance and questions about human existence (featuring the participation of João Lemos – Molho Negro). The band remains heavy in sound, but has matured at the same time.
Trying to categorize the music of 'Outburst Desert', we can pick out a lot of elements getting tangled together. Yes, the sound is relatively heavy. Yes, the rhythm is intense. Yes, the riffs take the lead on these tracks. Still, we can't say this is your classic, typical stoner band. The tracks have a freshness to them. And as paradoxical as it sounds, the melodies don't get lost in that familiar 'murkiness' of sound that other stoner tracks have. There's a clarity here. That's the signature of the music of Fusage.
Editor's Choice: 'Fearless Soul'
Truth be told, it was a really close call between 'Fearless Soul' and 'Weapons Of Mass Destruction'. In the end, the first one won out. It was, after all, one of the two singles the band released ahead of the album's arrival. With an outstanding riff and a rhythm that'll stick with you from the very first listen, 'Fearless Soul' is a signature track for Fusage. It'll get you moving to the beat right away, and I'm sure it'll become one of your favourites.
Never hear a word they say
Got rid of all the voices in my mind
It used to be the only way
Now ain't no solution that's hard to find
Need to get back on the road
Feel the wheels are rolling back in time
I will never be afraid
I'm living all the dreams that are passing by
I'm a Fearless Soul
In conclusion
With their second album, Fusage lay the groundwork for their sound. New horizons open up for the conception of this work, and, track by track, the quartet's most ambitious statement is laid wide open. That there's a vast desert out there with new shapes, textures and flavours you need to experience. That's exactly what 'Outburst Desert' is. An album that, while it describes a vast desert of everyday life, is in reality a musical oasis for our ears.

Following in the footsteps of Sepultura, as well as other bands hailing from coffee country, Fusage have a strong political and social element running through their lyrics. That, however, has never seemed to put off listeners. Ultimately, 'Outburst Desert' is here to offer you a fresh perspective on Hard Rock and to take you on a journey through the facets the band's music creates. Let it Rock !!!
