Female President: Third single 'Sacred Voyage'
Female President release their third single "Sacred Voyage", a track dedicated to family members lost in the pandemic.
By Dimitris (Bari) Polyzois
From their upcoming EP "Our Year To Grieve", Female President narrate the story of a woman's journey who has had her fill, in the song "Sacred Voyage". A sonic departure from the Bring Back The Ghosts and Nine Nineteen. The cello and violin play a very important role in the song and carry us into the mood of somber beauty and tragic endings.
The woman in the lyrics is a shining light who can't find the spark or the joy to live
The Sacred Voyage is dedicated to family members who were lost during the pandemic. At the same time it speaks to all those who suffer silently from mental illness and depression. The band is a dynamic modern rock trio inspired by the early roots of rock n roll. The Female President use harshness and simplistic riffs to create a sound all their own. A family of musicians, whose individual styles create an exceptional dynamic.
The Dréa Atkins (of the Farewell Albatross), Johnny Moss (of DSR) and Jasper Cunningham (of Vacant Lights) formed the band in the summer of 2020. Female President released their full EP in June 2022. The EP is dedicated to the loss of many family and community members over the past year, including Dréa's father.
