Clamm
The Clamm are the explosive trio born in the back alleys of Melbourne, worthy successors on the independent path carved out by successful bands in the middle of last decade such as Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Total Control. Theiraim is to spread their own musical manifesto with today's concerns. Lyrically they move in this direction with a socio-political style, dipped at the same time in their sturdy and aggressive, but quite often fuzzy, danceable sound. They themselves state that their sound is so wild precisely to make clear the band's anti-violence character, since the whole record is teeming with self-improvement messages.
Their originality lies in the fact that their sound essentially doesn't belong to just one specific genre, since the distinctive guitar and vocal sections they use go well beyond the norms of any single genre. They hit the streets of the far-off Continent just in 2019, playing at various, mostly independent, festivals, where they essentially always lacked a third member (bass), asking friends and relatives for help to get the best result. All this until they met the other sex in the name of Maisie Everett (vocals/bass) and realized that great independent music is played by people with steady bonds.
Kidney Black
A brand-new four-piece band from Athens, which nevertheless consists of old hands of the domestic rock scene, since its members have played in bands that have made history such as The Earthbound, Semen And The Sun & Raindogs. They came together during the pandemic, breaking the law every time they rehearsed due to the lockdown, which meant they jammed effortlessly and without any hang-ups, since every gathering of theirs worked as a form of release and psychotherapy. Escaping in this way, they brought out of themselves an alternative and grungy aesthetic with underground roots and punk attitude.
In August 2021, they recorded live at Lychnopolis studio, produced by Νίκος Χαλκούσης and mastered by Νίκος Στυλίδης (Labyrinth of thoughts). It's 6 "dynamite" tracks – a landmark in the history of independent releases – that take you back to the underground era of the '90s, reminding you of the sound of Wipers, the distortion of Dinosaur Jr, as well as the grunge of Sonic Youth.
Their first live show is now a fact, and for our part we hope the turnout will be effortless and that the joy of the music will spread through the crowd without any hang-ups, using in this way their own self-defining terminology for the same, shared, recipients.
They consist of:
Πάνος Μ. – Drums
Νικηφόρος – Guitar, vocals
Μήτσος – Bass
Χρήστος Ζούγκλας – Guitar
Frenzee
The third band to appear at Death Disco are Frenzee. They consist of three siblings – Απολλωνία Απολλωνία, Αντώνη Αντώνη and Νίκο Νίκο born in Μελβούρνη Australia and raised in Κρήτη. They started banging on drums, guitars and vocals in 2021. Ideas that already existed became songs, and they recorded those songs in their basement in November 2021 for their debut EP 'Frenzee' which will come out at the end of 2022. On July 22nd they released their first single 'Fire In My Gut' on bandcamp. More singles are coming in the near future.
