Black Reuss – 'Journey': The second chapter of the story

In this second work, Black Reuss gears up and sets off on the journey, through which he aims and hopes to find out who he really is and where he truly belongs. He's called to think for himself and to break the chains of anything that wants to control his life. Once he's overcome even the last obstacle and cast out the last doubt and negative thought within him, the journey will be complete. He'll reach his destination and the third chapter will be able to begin.

"Journey" comes with a slightly different, tweaked heavy metal sound, with strong and distinctive influences from doom metal, as well as gothic and the musical offshoots it spawns. The album also carries influences from industrial metal, electronic music, and post-rock, which blend excellently with the main musical axis mentioned above. The atmosphere built is murky and dense to match the subject matter, but never dull. Through the heavy doom riffs, beautiful melodic lines emerge that win you over instantly. The various different influences colour the record and offer that element of surprise that keeps you locked in right to the very last minute.

Life is like a river, it often changes direction and the only constant is that it keeps moving, always downward.

It's this movement and this unceasing course that Black Reuss aims to portray through his music Black Reuss. Each album of this project is a different part of human life, described through interesting and thoroughly beautiful compositions.
