What?! Don't you know plenty of bands who work in this genre?! Andy Rocks came here to show us that Southern Rock has a lot more to give. The band from Germany unveiled their latest single titled 'Get Me A Drink'. A track taken from the album 'Look at what we've done!’
German Southern Rock
And suddenly we find ourselves wondering how that came about. Does it matter?! Not one bit! Music has no limits and no borders. Every genre takes its name from the music it represents and its characteristics.
Key elements of Southern Rock? Dynamic music, interesting melodies, a voice that takes you on a journey and a broader sense of carefree ease. Whenever I listen to music of this genre, the following lyric from Skynyrd always comes to mind.
'Big wheels keep on turnin'
Carry me home to see my kin'
Exactly that! The image of being in a pickup truck heading home. A sunny day. A clear blue sky. That's kind of how I felt when I heard 'Get Me A Drink'. Beautiful. Peaceful. Joyful.
