The Veritas come to us from America, and they're something more than just a simple band. Mainly, it's a vision, that of the guitarist Greg Wenk. This vision, moreover, pushed him to bring out his ideas and roots, around heavy sounds. So now with his band, after an EP (and after their first single ‘Frail’), they bring us yet another full-length work. Its title is “ Threads of Fatality ” and it was released on August 26, 2020, by Veritas Rocks LLC.
On progressive paths

Clearly putting the emphasis on progressive sounds, since Mark Zonder puts his signature on it among others, the musical colour of Veritas, unites technicality with epicness. In its 14 compositions, all of this really shows through. The band walks in the footsteps of Fates Warning, without fear or fuss, but with plenty of appetite, so that this kind of sound can carry on.
In the complexity of the overall sound, plenty of rock elements are hidden too, in an orgy of rhythms and melodies. All of this is played out between softer and heavier sounds, giving variety.

The band's style shows through very clearly in standout tracks, like Μorbid Stale or Die To Live. The most characteristic sample of the album, though, is Love and Burn.
In fact, what mainly stays with us after listening to this work is its 80s atmosphere, the love for the art, and the influences from a few more titanic bands, like Queensryche and Crimson Glory, opening up the eyes and ears of fans everywhere even further.

Editor's Choice: 'Love and Burn'
The track that, in my opinion, seems to stand out from the album, is 'Love and Burn'. Its sound has something different about it, while the drums make their presence felt, with their complexity. Finally, the vocals give off something of a 90s Hard Rock vibe!
The Veritas' debut is extremely powerful
'Threads of Fatality' places the band in a prominent spot on the progressive metal scene. It's the technique that makes their music stand out, while at the same time offering a fresh new perspective on the genre.

Eager to showcase the sound that pushed them into this venture, Veritas proudly honor their country's prog idiom, and the legends who established it, in a beautiful and alluring whole. The mastermind, Greg Wenk, honors his beloved music, and delivers it with honor and sincerity, together with his exceptionally talented crew.
