Valiant Sentinel: They present their self-titled album
Valiant Sentinel present their new, self-titled album. With elements reminiscent of the power of metal music, the record is here to surprise you. It's nice to come across new projects that keep on echoing the power of metal sound in the classic sense….
By Dimitris (Bari) Polyzois

One such and worthy example is Valiant Sentinel of guitarist and sole composer Δημήτρης Σκόδρας. With their self-titled debut album, released, not at all by chance, on Greek label No Remorse Records (Facebook, Instagram), the "mother hen" of this sound worldwide, given how it has evolved over the years.
Fronted by Rob Lundgren
The singer covering the majority of the compositions of Valiant Sentinel is Swedish Rob Lundgren. Powerful and quite expressive, while the surprise comes with the participation of 2 truly great names. Tim ”Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth) and Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire), who have each taken on and brought out the very best in one song of the album.

Compositionally, Σκόδρας has won the bet on pure, unadulterated metal, crafting songs with influences ranging from the classic sound of the 80's, with quite a few Maiden and Manowar touches, all the way to the power metal sound of the 90's decade. But that alone isn't enough. He's made sure to enrich them – in the good sense of the word – with catchy and inspired riffs, hooky refrains, and dynamics that one moment have you headbanging non-stop and the next bring you back down to earth into more melodic metal forms.
The production is spotless and respectful of the style it strives for and ultimately manages to highlight, helping the compositions "breathe" properly.
In conclusion, we'd say that Valiant Sentinel is a thoroughly worthy debut of authentic metal, and if Δημήτρης manages to turn his project into a full band, we're certain he can achieve great goals in the years to come. This self-titled album stands as clear proof of that!
