The Silent Wedding live @Temple: An impressive presentation!
On Friday 15-04-22 we found ourselves at Temple for the presentation of 'Ego Path' by Silent Wedding, a live show that won over the crowd! In a presentation that won over the crowd, The Silent Wedding presented their newest album titled 'Ego Path'.
By Dimitris (Bari) Polyzois

Temple Temple filled up and the crowd showed they'd been waiting for this intensely. The result was a night that rounded out the picture I already had of the very beautiful 'Ego Path',Ego Path', but also the surprise -for me at least- that goes by the name of Simplefast!

Simplefast opened the night
Walking into Temple, the band Simplefast was an act I hadn't come into contact with before. Yes, I'd heard individual tracks, but never a whole album. So I really didn't know what to expect! Now I can safely say they're firmly on the Λαγωνικό's radar!
The Greek Thrashers did everything to warm up the crowd. They played fast, melodic and with passion! This is a very tight band with a full and polished sound. If you thought that listening to Simplefast, you'd just get fast playing with barely any melody, I dare you to think again! The band has plenty of melody and some very heavy riffs. That's exactly what's making me want to check out a more complete body of their work now, and believe me, I will!
'Simplefast won me over, clean and simple! They combine a lot of great musical elements.'
Beyond their music, the vibe they had at the live show was excellent too. From the very first note, all the way to the moment their guitarist Panos climbed down with his guitar to play among the crowd! I'm definitely looking forward to their next live show!

Silent Wedding showed us just how much they'd been missed from the stage
Two years had passed since the last time Silent Wedding took to the stage. The global situation that affected all musicians affected this power / progressive metal band too. For me, seeing them live for the first time, I was certainly caught by surprise. The band set us up nicely for the album's opening, bringing out three dancers who evoked sirens.
For 'Ego PathEgo Path' I knew what to expect. After all, I had the chance to put my impressions down in writing in the article below. What remained was how this music would translate into a live setting. And boy, did the band lived up to my expectations… Excellent sound, and the way the songs came alive in front of me was outstanding. This is, after all, a battle-hardened band that knows how to handle the tricky conditions of a live show. The sound quality was very close to that of the record, and the dynamics ebbed and flowed just right.
'If we assume the band was somewhat rusty from their two-year absence, then I wonder just how much better their next live show is going to be!'
I can't really know if the band was in some way 'rusty' from their time away from the stage. Friday's show, however, was of very high quality. If before this, 'Ego PathEgo Path' had already won me over, now after Friday, I can say with confidence that I can't wait to see Silent Wedding on stage again. Proof of what a great night it was: on the drive home, I put the record on again to listen to it one more time! So, looking forward to our next live encounter with the band!
