A week ago, the The Rasmus, the multi-platinum band from Finland, announced that they will be among the candidates who will represent their country at Eurovision. This will happen through the competition Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (The New Music Competition). The reception from the media and the public was massive, both in their own country and in many countries across Europe. The The Rasmus released their new single through Playground music (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). "Jezebel" is among the seven candidate songs that will represent Finland at Eurovision.

The song was written by the band together with Desmond Child, who also produced it. Desmond has written and produced songs for some of the most successful bands out there. Names like Kiss, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and Alice Cooper are just a few among many others.
Child describes in his own words how the making of this song began: "Lauri called me up and told me he wanted to write the biggest, best song in the whole world, and asked me to do it with him. I told him, 'Yes, I'd love to, but I'm in Folegandros.' And he said, 'I'm coming.' Jezebel is a tribute to today's women, who own their bodies, who decide for themselves, their sexuality, who are determined to be equal.»
