A new Tele style series will make its appearance. Guitars with vintage look and lots of new features.
The instruments will come with a volume knob, a tone pot and a five-way selector switch. Adding more tonal depth to the control section is an Alter switch. This switch splits the humbucker and lets you run different combinations for a quick and drastic tone shift.
Each guitar also features a one-piece S-Tech maple neck with oil finish. The specs include 22 stainless steel jumbo frets and a bone nut "oil-treated" for improved tuning stability.
The differences between the AZS2209, AZS2209F, AZS2209Q and AZS2200 models lie in their construction.
The premium AZS2209 model [above] features an ash body and comes in Tri Fade, Sunburst and Prussian Blue Metallic finishes. It also features an ergonomic contoured control section and pickguard to round off the classic look.
Meanwhile, the AZS2200, AZS2200F and AZS2200Q sport a more modern aesthetic.
The alder guitars lose the pickguard and also come in flamed maple top and quilted maple top versions.
Pricing and availability for the AZS series guitars have not yet been announced. On January 18, Ibanez also released the FlatV1, a T-type signature model for blues virtuoso Josh Smith.
From our experience, Ibanez's quality will definitely make a difference. Especially for guitarists who want a classic guitar with more modern characteristics.
