On the occasion of the upcoming Spring Rocks vol.1 festival, tell me a bit about your thoughts. How did it come about? What should we expect from it?
Nomos: ‘'When we got the offer from Angels, we didn't have much to think about! We accepted the challenge and we'll give everything we've got and then some on stage, so that the people who honor us with their presence have a great time.'
Disillussive Play: ‘Good evening everyone from Disillusive Play and thank you very much for this interview!
We're thrilled to be taking part in the Spring Rocks Festival Vol. I, after quite a while away from the stage, since we'd been devoted to preparing our second album. Our participation in the festival came about through our collaboration with Angels PR Promotion and we're especially happy that it's happening at HolyWood Live Stage, a venue we love dearly and have been visiting religiously for years now! From Disillusive Play you'll mostly hear material from the new album, which is expected to come out very soon, but also some songs from our first record «Open Arms».’
Slow Burning Car: ‘'For us from Los Angeles it's an opportunity we didn't think would ever happen, but luckily Angels PR gathered four amazing bands and it's going to be mayhem!!! Maybe it's a chance for me to meet other Greeks who love hard rock and heavy metal like I do, and bands that could come play with us in Los Angeles.'
Scream Collision: ‘'It's a live show organized by PR ANGELS, thank you very much for the invitation and we're thrilled to be sharing the stage with 3 other very good bands.'
Record-wise, what are you up to right now? Is there something you're working on?
Nomos: ‘'We've been working on our debut album for a few months now, expected to be released at the end of 2023. In fact the first single of the album "The Ghost of Tomorrow" will be available on our YouTube channel and on all digital platforms through our label IASON PRODUCTION, on March 27th!'
Disillussive Play: ‘'We're literally a hair's breadth away from releasing our second album, coming this spring on WormHoleDeathlabel! To get a taste of the new material, don't miss the Official Video for «Queen Of the Night», which has already been released!'
Slow Buring Car: ‘'We just finished our sixth record called "Vicarius Disclosures". It'll be released on May 10th on Spotify, CD Baby and iTunes.'
Scream Collision: ‘'Our first album titled "Memories" has been out since 2021, and since 2019 we've also released a single titled " Rolling a Dice". Right now we're in the process of writing our new album.'
Tell us about your musical style and your influences?
Nomos: ‘'Musically we move along the paths of the new Metal era, using strongly melodic elements in our compositions. Our influences, both musically and lyrically, are bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Arch Enemy, etc.'
Disillussive Play: ‘'We describe ourselves as a hard/heavy rock band with a metal style and some progressive elements! Each member, of course, has their own influences, and we think this benefits the band as a whole, but if we're to talk about the band's influences, we can mention influences from Progressive Metal (Queensryche, Conception), from Progressive Rock (Marillion, King Crimson), from Hard Rock (Halestorm, Stone Sour), and also from 80s AOR bands (Ratt, Motley Crew).'
Slow Burning Car: ‘'Our music is a mix of 90s grunge and 80s metal. Somewhere in between. Queens Of The Stone Age, Mudhoney, Black Sabbath, and New Model Army are some of the bands that have influenced us.'
Scream Collision: ‘'Our musical style is shaped by the many different influences each member of our band brings. Everyone has added something different to the music we play. Our influences are varied but come mainly from Hard Rock and Metal. Some of the bands that have influenced our music the most are IRON MAIDEN, SAVATAGE, PINK FLOYD, SOCRATES, etc.'
Tell me a bit about the band's future plans. Upcoming live shows, upcoming albums…
Nomos: ‘'Our main goal is to finish the album. We'll be devoted to that for the next two months. For the summer we're discussing various proposals, in collaboration with our label, so we can take part in festivals all over Greece.'
Disillussive Play: ‘'Our second album titled «Songs for the Non-Existent», which will contain 11 songs, will be released this spring. As for live shows, there are discussions about various gigs, in Athens, elsewhere in Greece and abroad, but we don't yet have anything announceable that we can mention.'
Slow Burning Car: ‘We're Slow Burning Car closing in on 20 years together. We've put out five records (with the sixth coming out on May 10th), we've played all over the U.S. and in England and now in Greece, with more shows until July.'
Scream Collision: 'As we mentioned before, right now we're in the process of writing a new album. We'll also have some live shows during the summer.'
To wrap up, give us one reason that would make us come to the festival.
Nomos: ‘'Just the fact that four excellent bands are taking part in the fest is a very strong reason to be at SPRING ROCKS. An extra reason is Angels, a well-established promotion company in our field, which is a guarantee for every band and every music lover, with its top-notch organizing!'
Disillusisive Play: ‘'Don't miss it, because (simply put) it's going to be mayhem!! We're so excited to have finished the work needed for the new album's release and we're full of energy for the upcoming shows! We can't wait to see you all in person on Saturday, April 1st at HolyWood Live Stage!
Can't wait! See you there!'
Slow Burning Car: 'A live rock show in Athens, I believe, always draws a crowd, and Angels PR has put together a night that will be unforgettable. The best reason will be the chance to see and hear 4 very worthwhile bands with original, fresh material. ‘
Scream Collision: ‘'The chance to see and hear 4 very worthwhile bands with original, fresh material.'
