With the release of the much-anticipated debut album from Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen, the duo greeted fans with a new single. Scars, a track pulled straight out of the '70s and steeped in blues-rock. Smith and Kotzen showcase new facets of their talent through a track quite different from what they've become known for so far.
The latest offering from the upcoming album comes after the release of the duo's debut single, Taking My Chances, which serves up a tasty combination of top-notch electric guitars and excellent riffs.

"I remember Scars being one of the songs we wrote early on in the collaboration. There's something fun and mysterious going on in this track that I find quite compelling," says Kotzen.
The Winery Dogs frontman went on to say that Scars "would be a great track to play live and to do some guitar improvising between the two of us."
Besides sharing guitar, vocal, songwriting and production duties with the Iron Maiden axeman, Kotzen also plays bass and drums on the track.
The single comes with another music video, which closely follows in the footsteps of the Taking My Chances video. With ominous black-and-white landscape shots, the video also shares bits from personal footage of the two guitar heroes. This footage comes from their home studios in London and Los Angeles respectively.

Commenting on the Smith / Kotzen group, Smith said: "Almost everything on the album is handled between Richie and myself, including the production. We had developed a very strong idea of how we wanted it to sound and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

"There are a lot of great songs on there that we're really pleased with."
