Senses open up to us! The Hound met the Glam Metal / Rock outfit and talked to them about their journey so far and their plans. The Hound met Senses and talked to them about their trajectory and their future.
By Dimitris (Bari) Polyzois

All this after their latest record. “Out Of The Line” is the work with which the Modern Glam Metalers Senses from Athens introduced themselves to the metal crowd. It contains seven compositions, through which they take us on an exploration of emotional and personal struggle.
How did the idea of forming Senses come about, and what was your initial vision?
'The idea of forming Senses was born in 2022, out of the need to bring the feel, the energy and the passion of the '80s glam and AOR scene into the present. Our initial vision was crystal clear: to create something authentic that would bridge the past with the future, marrying a vintage sound with modern production and a modern visual identity.'
What inspired you to go after that '80s synth aesthetic, and how do you fold it into your sound and into the here and now?
'The inspiration for the '80s synth aesthetic came from our deep love for bands like Van Halen, Def Leppard and Europe, but also from the cinema and the culture of the era. Today we try to fold it in our own way, through the subgenre we've named Neo Glam Cyber Rock, a blend of glam, hard rock and cyberpunk audiovisual aesthetics.'
How did you all meet as members, and how did you "click" as a band?
'We met through the music world, but also through friends. The "chemistry" was obvious from the very first moment. We started out with Dim Argio's vision, and little by little this strong bond developed that gives us a sense of family on stage and in the studio.'
What was Bob Katsionis' role in the production process, and what do you think he added to your sound?
'Bob Katsionis played a decisive role in the production process. With his experience and his open mind, he guided us so we could crystallise a sound that's solid and crystal clear, but also true to our identity, keeping our vision alive at every stage of the creative process.'
How was the recording period at Sound Symmetry Studio for you?
'The recording period at Sound Symmetry Studio was an intense and creative experience. Even though there were challenges, every day in the studio was one step closer to the result we'd been dreaming of.'
What was the biggest challenge you faced while making your album?
'The biggest challenge was balancing the modern element with the authentic vintage feeling we wanted. We had to nail the right recipe so that the soul of our sound wouldn't get lost, but would also speak to a contemporary audience.'
Tell us a few words about the album's artwork and the collaboration with Άγγελο Μαργαρίτη.
'The album's artwork, created by Άγγελου Μαργαρίτη, We wanted the cover to convey the energy and the style of our music, and Άγγελος managed to render it with absolute precision and taste.'
What is each member's role within the band, beyond the musical duties?
'Beyond the musical duties, every member has extra roles. Dim Argio is responsible for coordinating the creative directions and the financial side. Emmanouil brings the vocal identity and contributes to the melody lines. John Fill takes on the bulk of the organisational work. He's responsible for communication with collaborators, promotion and managing the social media, together with the rest of the members. George Morbid has a big role in putting the shows together, along with John Agkor.'
What reactions have you had so far from the audience and the music community?
'The response from the audience and the music community has been incredible. "Out of Line" made it onto lists of the best albums of 2024 both in Greece and abroad, and we got a lot of positive comments about the combination of old school with a fresh approach.'
What's the message you want to get across through your music?
'Our core message is to live outside the lines, to stay authentic and to let no one put limits on how you express yourself. Our music is a dialogue with the listener, an invitation to feel and to live freely.'
What are your next steps as a band? Are you getting live shows or new material ready?
'Our next steps include releasing a new single, so we can present fresh material a year on from the release of Out Of Line, as well as more live shows in Greece and abroad.'
