With 8 tracks in its arsenal and a powerful presence overall from start to finish, Sebia set sail into your ears with a record that seems way too strong to be a debut album. It's the record titled 'Acceptance of Reality', an album that has plenty of surprises.
Once you hit play, songs will reach your ears that you'd swear don't belong to a band just now setting off on its recording journey.
From the music, to the lyrics, to the vocals and all the way to the production, the Athenian band seems to have done an outstanding job. It makes itself come across as a band with many years of experience under its belt!
It's something truly remarkable for a band just starting out. But believe me, this beginning isn't taking timid baby steps. They know what they're capable of and what they can pull off, and they put that to full use on the new record «Acceptance of Reality» to the fullest! With passion overflowing from them, they deliver compositions that will stick with you. Compositions you'll wear out on repeat until your mind gets tired of them (which will be hard).
“Voices" for its dark yet hopeful atmosphere. "Witch Hunt" for its aura that evokes an actual witch hunt, narrated to us by the band through its music.
“Ship Lost Through The Mist" with its music taking you on a journey as if you were aboard the lost ship of the title, gradually losing yourself in the melodies. "Get Out Of Your Heads" for its rebellious title. Finally, the fierce beauty simmering beneath the surface of the title track "Acceptance of Reality" which leaves you with a certain aura. An aura that will make you want even more from Sebia. You'll want to see them live and feel all that vibe they put out in their songs.
In conclusion
The debut album is honestly more than good, and the hard rock with progressive metal is at its best, giving us a promising band for the future of the Greek scene. Sebia Sebia deserve a lot, and I believe the same passion they put out on the record they'll put out live as well, something few Greek bands manage to pull off, let alone right from their very first album.
So if you want to dig around and get hooked on a new band, then Sebia Sebia and the record «Acceptance of Reality» is exactly what you're looking for! They're scraping the ceiling, though something tells me we still have a lot more coming!
