Το Λαγωνικό found itself at Stadio Euganeo in Padova in Italy on 01.07.23 to catch the show by Rammstein! This particular live is part of the Europe Stadium Tour 2023 that's underway this summer for the band.
Chapter 1: Gigs abroad!
There's always something special about traveling for the love of music. Whether you're heading within your own borders or beyond them, the anticipation is huge and the joy even bigger! Now, if all of that gets combined with a trip to a beautiful country to hear one of your favourite bands, then we could say it's an irresistible combination.

So, having organised the whole venture well in advance, we chose to be at the Rammstein show in Rammstein in Padova. The band from Germany is, in our opinion, one of the most important acts in the scene, because they do something truly unique. Precisely because the logistics required to transport all their gear are massive, we don't get the pleasure of seeing them often in Greece. With their last appearance being back in 2010, the trip to Italy was a no-brainer if we wanted to experience up close the intensity and the scorching conditions they create at their shows.
Chapter 2: The spectacle they create!

Οι Rammstein are renowned for the atmosphere they create at their shows, and the Padova concert in Padova was no exception. Moving the band and all the equipment that comes with it is a genuinely massive feat. The area around Stadio Euganeo was packed with trucks patiently waiting to be loaded up and carry everything away. If you factor in that the band plays a different city every 2-3 days, you can grasp the sheer scale of the undertaking.
At the same time, they must be the only band that employs so many technicians and so many people. All this preparation serves a real purpose. Huge blazing towers, fireworks, flames, even musical instruments that shoot fire will be used during the live show, which lasts more than 2 hours. And to give you a taste of what the setup actually requires, here's the time-lapse video from the Dresden show.
Chapter 3: Every song a new performance!
Οι Rammstein are masters of stadium rock. Not only are they able to fill entire stadiums with people, but they take the energy they get from the crowd and amplify it. This is a band that loves putting on a show. From 'Mein Teil' where there was a 'genuine' attempt by Till Lindemann to cook Christian Lorenz, to the delightful piano version of 'Engel'. They're incredibly theatrical in every single moment. They pick out elaborate ways to grab your attention. From fire and fireworks to genuinely impressive props. A particular highlight was the moment when, from the small stage set up in the middle of the crowd, they made their way back to the main stage by boat for the encore.

Every single moment we see them on stage, they manage to make it one of a kind. After it was over, they genuinely had me wondering how on earth they pull it off and just how much each show must actually cost them! Creating an atmosphere like that took a huge amount of effort and very careful planning. On the other hand, the crowd seems to respond fully to the energy they get from the band. At the end of the day, we all managed to leave the stadium thrilled and completely fulfilled.

Quite possibly the best live show we've ever seen!
All in all, the Padova show was a one-of-a-kind experience. It was more than two hours of an outstanding spectacle, accompanied by seriously top-notch music. In my opinion, regardless of what kind of music someone listens to, everyone should experience what Rammsteinhave to offer, at least once. With a career spanning close to three decades and their intensity showing no signs of fading, the band from Germany manages to deliver a truly unique musical combination. A style that, no matter how well we think we know it, keeps surprising us more and more every time.

With the show over, I head back ready to dig even deeper into their music. I feel like they're worth studying further. In the days following the trip, I catch myself sneaking peeks at the next cities they're planning to visit. In the end, the 'drug' called Rammstein seems to have hooked me like nothing else has. I guess that's just what Rammsteinare… A kind of music that pulls you in. I hope they add one more show in our country to their schedule soon. Until then, we're getting ready to meet them again in some European city!
