Ο Rami Winston returns with a new single! It's the track titled 'Damn Mississippi', which is featured on the album 'The Golden Siren Incident'. The record is released by Bitter Tea Records (Facebook, Instagram).
'Damn Mississippi' is built on a guitar riff straight out of the American South, with a beat that recalls Westside Beats of the '90s.
The Rami Winston bridges the gap with Western culture and with the sound of his new song reveals many different musical influences. Lyrically, "Damn Mississippi" has references to the burning issue of police repression and is a cry against the systemic violence against African American citizens. As has recently been said, "the killings of African Americans haven't increased overall, they're just increasingly being recorded now".

A Hip-Hop record with many different styles of music
'The Golden Siren Incident' is a record that will surprise you. Starting with 'Damn Mississippi' the listener gets the sense that this is a rock record with a lot of funk elements. In reality though, Rami Winston's core style is closer to Hip-Hop, we'd say! But with tracks like the one above, as well as 'Rider's Gospel', Rami skillfully bridges the southern genre, the killer explosive guitar riffs, and the seriously powerful lyrics.
This is definitely one of the most beautiful albums we've heard, and personally for me it's a real badge of honour that so many genres of music get mixed together here. All of this is done in an outstanding way, without ever sounding out of place. It's worth a listen! You'll be hooked!
