Live Report: 25 Years of Sexpyr – Επαιτιακό Live
The satirical Hip-Hop artist Sexpyr celebrated his 25th anniversary with the Επαιτιακό Live. All of it went down on the stage of Κύτταρο on 03.03.24.

On a night full of intense memories, Sexpyr and his crew gave us wonderful moments at the Επαιτιακό Live for the 25 years of his musical journey. The stage at Κύτταρο (Facebook, Instagram) caught fire with everyone who got up there to honor Sexpyr's Sexpyr!

A dynamic kickoff with Sexpyr
I was on site pretty early on. I wanted to enjoy the event from the very start, but also to have a bit of a chat with the 'birthday boy' himself! And so, a little after 21:00, Sexpyr Sexpyr got up on stage and a packed Κύτταρο started cheering! The setlist was loaded with both old and new hits of his. Tracks we'd grown up with. Tracks that had "dressed" our teenage years and our childhood.
It was striking that there were people of every age in the venue. But everyone was enjoying the tracks all the same. At the end of the day, that's Sexpyr's greatest achievement: he's managed to get us listening, whether we're Hip-Hop fans or metal fans. Regardless even of our age.

Επαιτιακό Live with plenty of different genres thrown in
And for anyone who thought this particular live would be all Hip-Hop melodies, the surprise was even bigger. With members of Tsopana Rave and Τσαντισμένων χωρίς Logo taking part, there was no way we weren't going to get some metal-rock sounds in quite a few tracks. Here I have to underline that the combination of Sexpyr's Sexpyr 's Hip-Hop delivery with the more rock sound was excellent! Even though it was only a small taste, it impressed me and I'm waiting with great impatience to hear what comes next.
An Επαιτιακό Live that left us begging for more music!
Beyond that, the whole live had a huge amount of movement going on. Artists kept coming up on stage every few songs, giving it a festival-like feel. The overall result had the vibe of a big party. As always, of course, there was no shortage of Sexpyr's Sexpyr's excellent stories, which are packed with laughs and a caustic edge.
Hordes of guests and fellow musicians!
Where do we even start with Sexpyr's Sexpyr 's friends who got up on stage to honor him?! They were all excellent and gave their very best so we could celebrate this night properly! From Λόγιο Λόγιο, to Freestone and Αφάνη, all the way to the dynamic Tus and Μιθριδάτη. They managed to get us moving to their rhythm and singing along with them!

A few closing thoughts...
The night was full of memories. On the musical side, tracks we listened to as teenagers came across as more relevant and indelible than ever. With a style that has evolved, but at its core keeps the same principles, Sexpyr Sexpyr has managed to stay unaffected by the changing times, and that's what keeps his music sounding so 'fresh'. In an era where everyone watches what they say and how, an era where everything gets misinterpreted, Sexpyr Sexpyr comes along to teach us carefree ease. Carrying that innocent joy of the 80s, 90s and 00s, he brings us tracks with no filter, tracks that are a slap in the face!
With lyrics full of vivid imagery and detailed descriptions, his tracks aren't just relevant, they're downright necessary for today's times. And as it turns out, Sexpyr Sexpyr is part of a Klikaria Loca, which, with artists like Μιθριδάτης, and Tus and all the kids who got up on stage, has a single unique purpose. To take you by the hand and stand by you through the hardship and minefield of discourse that has built up in Greece today. It nurtures the child we all still carry inside us.
Finally, something refreshing! For that reason alone, I'd recommend you go listen to Sexpyr's Sexpyr's music right away. You'll be surprised!
In closing, I'd like to mention the presence of an artist who didn't get up on stage, yet whose influence on the genre is unique. And of course, it's none other than the excellent Πρύτανη!
You're right, Πρύτανη… We've all grown up… But our habits stay the same. The music may no longer be playing on the boombox, but it's still the same, and it stirs up just as strong feelings…
