O.Y.D.: New Single ‘Bring Them To Justice’
A powerful comeback from O.Y.D. Their new single titled ‘Bring Them To Justice’, has arrived to stir up the murky waters of everyday wrongdoing.
By Dimitris (Bari) Polyzois
The situation with the quarantine and the virus may have forced a pause on life as we knew it, but that doesn't mean the planet stopped moving. Especially when so many events on the world stage left us shaken. As a result of the aftertaste all this left behind, the O.Y.D. put their thoughts into their latest single titled ‘Bring Them to Justice’.
The source of inspiration
One of the most significant events that shook world public opinion was the murder of George Floyd. The black man was killed in Minnesota, a victim of police brutality. His death shook the entire planet, with people urgently demanding that those responsible be brought before justice.
‘Bring Them To Justice’ is an ode to this event, joining our voices with the band's powerful lyrics. Drawing from the events that took place in Minneapolis in 2020, along with everything that followed (attempts at cover-up – acquittal of the other officers), the O.Y.D. felt the "obligation" to take a clear stance against any form of racism.
A few words about the band
The band consists of Orestis – Petros Alimonos (Vocals), Nikos Koumoundouros (Guitar), Charis Kolozis (Drums) and Stavros Tsotras (Bass). Their music falls under the Nu Metal style and moves towards more contemporary metal forms, with the guitars getting heavier and the riffs a fair bit more aggressive.
In a pandemic-stricken world that has given birth to some of the greatest social and economic inequalities as well as a sense of uncertainty about the future of the arts, the O.Y.D., present to you their new Video Clip/ Single titled ‘Bring Them To Justice‘.
