About the record and Orra!
The record titled "Unbounded" is an independent release. It consists of 6 songs that are about to change the way you think about sound and songwriting. The band was formed in the autumn of 2019 by a group of experienced, determined and open-minded musicians. They've collaborated on various projects over the years, and that perspective has bled into this record, giving us a truly distinctive result.
About the music
Listening to the songs of "Unbounded" one by one, you'll come across two lengthy tracks bookending it, plus four shorter ones, all of which together give us an excellent atmosphere and are so flawlessly arranged and interconnected that they make you savour every single moment.
Throughout, the band shows its ability to break free from the classic boundaries of songwriting, and it does so in such a professional and musically mature way that you immediately grasp both the calibre of the musicians and how well they know each other after all this time playing together. They simply catch you off guard, because we're talking about a debut album here, and that's not something you come across often!
If I had to pick a few tracks from this record I'd go for the two trilogies "Prometheus Unbound" and "Modus Hex", as well as "The Revenant" and "In Pulse". Really lovely compositions that make you want to hear them again and again, though overall the album "Unbounded" is packed with good tracks from start to finish. The powerful, melodic guitars, the exotic grooves, the strong rhythm section, along with the powerful vocals and the intricate, multi-layered arrangements with a beautifully in-sync psychedelic atmosphere will make you want to become one with the musical existence of Orra.
They're simply spellbinding and give the listener an album that promises a lot for the future and definitely makes the band stand out!
