What stage do I catch you at?
'You catch us right in the middle of a reorganisation phase. We're rehearsing for our upcoming live show in Kastoria at rockoverdose festival on September 17th.'
Are you happy with the release of 'Indigo'?
'Yeah, pretty much! We tried to play all over Greece. We managed to a certain extent. The impressions from the live shows and the feedback we got were really good, but unfortunately covid hit us. Now we're in restart mode, with a new single in our back pocket too!'
Do you follow a specific process when writing songs? Does every member contribute, or does everyone have their own "department"?
'We work collectively on the composition side. Everyone has an opinion about everything and we decide, I'd say, in a thoroughly democratic way, how a song's structure will develop. We're not a band built around one person! The composition of 'Indigo' was done the same way!'

What are your influences, musically and lyrically?
'Now you've got us! We're 4 different people in terms of taste and age, so there's a huge range of influences! Definitely not just from heavy music. Lyrically we talk about our own experiences, as well as social issues that plague us daily. We've genuinely carried these elements into 'Indigo‘.’
Let's talk a bit about the future… What are your goals and what are your dreams? How would you like things to be for you a few years from now?
'To tell you the truth, we haven't thought about that. We try to live in the present…but let's say we'd like to stay creative. To have a good time doing this and keep playing our music wherever we can!'
Do you do anything else besides the band?
'We all have day jobs!'
How was the band born?
'We started out as a band in 2013 playing covers and slowly writing our own songs. After some lineup changes in 2014 we started to really take shape as O.Y.D., ready to go into the studio to record 7 songs we had for our first record. There's a huge range of influences across genres!'
How do you see things on the Greek scene?
'There's a real boom going on. I'd say new bands keep popping up, young kids are finding an outlet through music, so that's only a good thing!'
What determines the state of things?
'We always determine it ourselves, depending on our own actions!'
