The band, who've been together since childhood, said: "The one thing we have to say about our next tune, Takin' It Back… is: 'Power to the people!'"
Takin' It Back is a big rock anthem to get you up on your feet and inspire you to take back what's been stolen from you. The song started out as a jam, but then it turned into a track that stuck it to the powers that be. The freshly-minted funky riffs became a melody that The Moon City Masters handed over to Grammy-winning producer Justin Craig. "Together we turned it into a fully-fledged rock tune."
The band's signature sound is built on tightly interlocking guitar and bass. Funky riffs and harmonies inspired by the '70s. All of that is on full display in Takin' It Back, which you can listen to on the right.
The latest single from The Moon City Masters, Takin' It Back, along with Over Now and Bring it On Home To Me from 2020, follow on from the group's 2019 debut EP, The Adventures Of The Moon City.
If The Moon City Masters seem to be completely in sync when they play, it's because they've been making music together since they were kids. And yes, since you asked, they're twins.
