Methedras – “Human Deception”: The comeback!

The Methedras make an impressive comeback with their sixth album, "Human Deception", after five years of absence, delivering a work that will win over and definitely thrill fans of the extreme sound. From the very first minutes, the album grabs the listener's interest and attention. All thanks to its aggressive sound and the intriguing blend of influences that make up its core.

Full of fury and intensity!

“Human Deception”, with a sound full of fury and intensity, combines thrash and death metal elements. What makes it stand out is the band's ability to smoothly blend various influences, creating a unique and dynamic sound.

Songs like “Know It All” and “Envy Society” show off the technical prowess of Methedras, with complex structures and melodies that steal your attention. Their progressive metal influences blend flawlessly with their traditional thrash sound, adding a technical and perfectly fitting groove to the compositions.

Aggression and melodies!

Despite its aggressive nature, the album isn't lacking in melody. The tracks “Psychotic” and “Layers of Grief” explore a more melodic side of death metal, slightly recalling the early years of In Flames. The momentum-driven riffs meet melodic lines, creating that characteristic contrast of melodic death metal, with the melodies emphasizing and underlining the explosiveness of the riffs.

Thrash metal influences dominate on songs like the explosive “Injected Thoughts”. Methedras mix the sound of European death metal with the classic sound of Bay Area thrash metal, creating an explosive, high-energy sound that recurs throughout the album. Tracks like “A New Deal” and “Enraged” stand out for their energy and dynamism.

Overall, “Human Deception” is an authentic work that does honour to the term extreme metal. Methedras demonstrate their ability to combine various influences while maintaining a cohesive and powerful sound. This is an album that definitely deserves a listen, if you haven't already given it one.
