Maplerun, O.Y.D. and Otros Mundos are meeting up on the Temple stage on November 4th, for a live show with real punch. On Saturday, November 4th, Temple Athens (Facebook, Instagram) hosts three powerful homegrown bands for a good cause!

On Saturday, November 4th, the Temple Athens (Facebook, Instagram) is hosting three powerful homegrown bands for a good cause! The Athenian alternative metallers Maplerun are marking 15 years since their first release. They'll be welcoming the powerful O.Y.D. (One Year Delay) who themselves boast notable festival appearances both at home and abroad. Opening the night will be the original lineup of Otros Mundos, a band that combines hip hop sound with brass instruments and drums. Ticket proceeds will go towards the youth housing facilities of The Home Project (Facebook, Instagram).

Maplerun
The Maplerun are a modern rock band based in Athens, formed in 2007 by a group of friends. Among their influences are Metallica, System of a Down, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Tool, Coldplay, Radiohead, Katatonia, Godsmack, Creed, Staind. The band took part in a European tour alongside American progressive metal legends "Shadow Gallery" in early October 2010. On top of that, the band's single "For You" was featured in Rock Band, a video game created by MTV Games and Harmonix, available for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
For Maplerun's second album "Restless", mastering was handled by TED JENSEN (Metallica, Evanesence, Linkin Park, etc.) and the artwork was created by TRAVIS SMITH (Opeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Nevermore). "Restless" was featured in Metal Hammer magazine's September issue (334) in October 2012.
O.Y.D.
The O.Y.D. first came together as a band in early 2012. After a few changes in lineup and musical style, they reached a point where they set out to release their first record. These days their influences lean towards a more modern hard sound, though the element of surprise, or nods to genres outside the heavy sound, are never absent. This time the artwork is influenced by noir films of the '50s and was commissioned to a graphic artist based in Chicago who specializes in the field.
The murder of George Floyd in 2020 didn't leave OYD unaffected, and drawing on that event, they released one of their most aggressive and hard-hitting tracks, "Bring Them To Justice". Right now, O.Y.D. are in the pre-production stage of their next record.
Otros Mundos
The Otros Mundos are an innovative musical ensemble formed in September 2022, hailing from the city of Kalamata. The band's two trumpets and saxophone infuse a refined approach into their music. The remaining members - electric guitar, bass, drums and vocals - bring a raw and authentic energy that sets them apart. At the core of the musical expression of Otros Mundos lies their fearlessness in tackling social issues and exploring the human experience.
