News from Scandinavia, specifically Finland. The Lordi announced that they will release seven new studio albums in October. These particular LPs will mark the band's first musical albums since the arrival of 'Killection' in 2020. That record was a mix containing songs that Lordi would have written, had the band existed between the early 1970s and the mid-1990s.
Lockdown was an opportunity for creation
The band's frontman, Mr. Lordi, explains: "Within a week, when the "Killectour was cut short in March 2020, I realized we'd have to make use of the extra time somehow. It was clear it was time to start planning the new album, even though 'Killection' hadn't even been out for two months yet. I was thinking that the most boring thing we could do after 'Killection' would be another standard Lordi album. I really enjoyed the different style of writing, recording and production on 'Killection', but it would be a boring idea to do a second part.

It's a great album from an imaginary, hidden catalogue of our songs. So I got the idea that the only thing that could top that would be to record and release this hidden catalogue. And by Halloween 2021 this catalogue will no longer be imaginary, it will actually exist… at least for the most part. My original idea was to release 10 albums, but the record label said I was crazy. But seven is a number they felt was somewhat more reasonable!'
So, for the 11th studio album by Lordi, we're not just getting one new album, we're getting the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th album all at once. What other rock band has ever done this? There's no other answer. NONE!
April's fools! Of course Lordi isn't releasing 4 albums simultaneously this year. That would be insane. But not insane enough for Lordi. The reality is that Lordi is releasing SEVEN (7!) new studio albums later this year.No shit. Not kidding. pic.twitter.com/2bdvYYxNXs— Lordi (@LORDIOFFICIAL) April 2, 2021
As a little teaser of this whole massive undertaking, Lordi unveiled a new single, titled 'Believe Me'. The track will be included in the boxset, coming out in October.
