Live Report: Illusory, The Silent Wedding, Fortis Ventus | 08.04.23

Saturday night, 08.04.23, all roads led to Piraeus Academy. On the venue's stage, a meeting had been set up by Illusory, by The Silent Wedding and by Fortis Ventus, three metal acts that shook up the night!

Forits Ventus

With the crowd already gathered, Fortis Ventus Fortis Ventus kicked off the night. With an excellent presence and a very powerful sound, they presented tracks from 'Vertalia', their debut album. Ventus Ventus are an act with tremendous elements and huge prospects. Their music is characterised by an innate epicness, stemming both from the melodies and from the voice of their frontwoman. What they were putting out on stage, though very dynamic, came across as quite "airy". This combination also made Ventus Ventus "lift up" the crowd and prepare them in the best possible way for what was to come. As for us, this first contact with the band on stage left us with the best impressions, and we're certainly looking forward to more live shows as well as new tracks.

The Silent Wedding

With a killer opening track ('Time of Darkness') and with their latest album 'Ego Path', The Silent Wedding The Silent Wedding carried the night on, cranking the decibels up even further! The band is known for their tremendous capabilities on stage. With a very meaty sound, they delivered the tracks from their latest album in the best possible way. A special moment for me personally was the rendition of 'The Sea of Fate', which happens to be a personal favourite of mine! Special mention should go to the now permanent presence of backing vocals, which lend a lot of atmosphere to the tracks and add multiple dimensions to the sound. To wrap up, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Silent are at the most mature and best moment of their career (at least so far), producing excellent music. We can't wait for what's next!

Illusory

The end of the live show found Illusory Illusory sending the crowd even higher. The band took the stage to present their latest album, titled 'Crimson Wreath', as well as older tracks of theirs. On the Piraeus Academy stage, the band seemed to give it their all. Their music, with tremendous dynamism, managed to give the crowd one more reason to shout and enjoy themselves. As it was our first time watching them live, we definitely got a very good picture of their capabilities and their power. So we'll have something to look forward to for their next live show, since their energy is outstanding!
