The Iron Maiden just released the track ‘Stratego’. The track is the second single from their new album Senjutsu, which is expected to drop in September.
The track comes out just a month after the release of the animated video for “The Writing on the Wall“, co-written by Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith. All this, several weeks after the band's “Belshazzar’s Feast” campaign.

The track is co-written by Janick Gers and Steve Harris
‘Stratego’ is a fast-tempo track. With plenty of galloping passages, shimmering guitar tones and soaring choruses, it's bound to become an instant favourite among fans.
Structurally, 'Stratego' is quite playful with a deceptive structure. At first, it seems to have every intention of leading into a powerful chorus. In the end, though, the course is cut off by an impressive lead section. Then, finally, the symphonic chorus arrives, along with the brilliance of Bruce Dickinson's voice.

The artist Mark Wilkinson created the wicked Samurai Eddie that graces the album's new cover. The record was recorded at Guillame Tell Studios in Paris, by producer Kevin Shirley, while Steve Harris served as co-producer. Harris also co-wrote 7 tracks. Two of these are co-written with Janick Gers, and one with Adrian Smith. Four tracks, running nine minutes, are pure Harris.
'Senjutsu' is Iron Maiden's 17th studio album and the first since 2015's The Book of Souls. It's expected to be released on September 3rd and will feature 10 tracks running 82 minutes. It will be the band's second consecutive double album.
