By Dimitris (Bari) Polyzois

The band from Austria unveiled the album titled 'Harlequin', which promises us a journey into Progressive Metal territory. The sound remains punchy and the tracks on the record are on fire!

A few words about the band
In Somnia In Somnia are a Progressive Modern Metal quartet from the picturesque mountains of Tyrol, blending influences from every modern Metal style into a unique, dark sound. While the lyrics grapple with trauma and philosophical musings, the orchestration is both gripping and intricate.
With the backing of film composer Christoph Manucredo, the ambitious visionaries managed to combine raw power with a distinct, grim atmosphere. This atmosphere flows through the varied overall sound via the Groove and Core Metal influences of drummer Dominic Granegger and the Djent of bassist Florian Bacher.

On music
On the third album "Harlequin", the two virtuoso guitarists Andreas Wibmer and Simon Andreas Brunner alternate between thrilling leads and pure brutality, while the vocals swing between whispers, screams, growls and clean vocals. The sound of 'Harlequin' is very dynamic. Exceptional rhythms and melodies that seem to come straight out of the most classic textbooks of metal music! On top of all that, there's no shortage of melodic solos that make the record even spicier.

In conclusion
These thoughtful musicians have found a way of self-healing, both personal and artistic. A way of shedding every ounce of negativity in life, letting their being simply flow into the music. Most of the songs on “Harlequin” are based on true stories, true emotions and true pain. In Somnia are artists painting pictures of their unique world in the air and in people's hearts.
When you soak up the intricate music of In Somnia, you hear and feel a sincere journey of the soul. A deep experience, then, one that reveals a thirst for innovation and change, so bold it's capable of stirring up a critical state of mind. After all, the members aren't rookies anymore, boasting an average of 16 years of experience on their instruments. For In Somnia the art flows right alongside the Tauernwind!
