By Dimitris (Bari) Polyzois

At the same time they presented 2 lyric videos for the tracks "Free” and “Bleeding Sky”, while also announcing new material. The band is currently recording its new album and intends to start releasing more singles throughout 2022.
A relatively new band
The Illegal Mind started their rehearsals in one of the studios in Tel Aviv in February 2018. After a lot of jamming with several musicians, a 4-piece band was born, which started working on an EP. Their success is evident from the fact that they seem to have conquered the minds of their audience. The idea for the name was born by chance from some of the lyrics of the singer Max Datskovsky of the band. The lyrics speak of a dystopian future and a mythological end of the world as we know it. Inspired by books, games and movies of the past century. The band has a vocal call about where humanity is heading and how to avoid a cataclysmic end.

On the music
The 'Forbidden Content' gets a heavier sound and lower tuned guitars. On this album which contains 7 tracks, they present a mix of rock, alternative metal, as well as punk and grunge influences. The album was recorded at AG Studios Tel Aviv (Facebook) only by Max Datskovsky, the singer and former drummer Arthur Blinov, with the help of the monster music producer Alex Zvulun (Desert, Chugun, Fatum Aeternum, The Fading).

Among the highlights of the collection is definitely 'Bleeding Sky'. Starting with the sound of a phone call in Russian (which strongly recalls the phone call from Chernobyl), it creates a bleak atmosphere. Depicting a post-apocalyptic setting, it stands as one of the most dynamic tracks on the record.
The tracks are tremendously interesting and as you listen to them, all the musical chops of the members unfold before us. Although the EP contains just 7 tracks, it definitely stokes our curiosity for the compositions to come. With vocals that fit the melodies of the songs very well and quite interesting backstories, the band seems to have created something really powerful. Before listening to the EP I had no direct picture of the compositions of Illegal Mind. I can say with confidence though that they managed to win me over and make me eager for their upcoming tracks.
