The Cyclopean Walls is an international Progressive Metal project founded in 2019 in Paris, by the Greek guitarist Γιάννης Τζιάλλας. During that period Γιάννης was working on the first songs, composing all the music and recording guitars, bass and keyboards himself. For the vocals he got in touch with Raphael Gazal (of the progsters LEVIATHAN from Colorado, USA), while Sean Lang and Jonas Schütz, both top names in session drummer circles, took part in those first recordings. Now they present us with the track ‘The Doom That Came to Sarnath‘, from their upcoming album ‘Enter The Dreamlands‘.
The result was the EP «Embrace The Mythos» released in May 2020 in digital format, featuring 4 original compositions of lyrical and dark Progressive Metal, inspired by the universe of the great H.P. Lovecraft.
From the very first listen of this EP, at Steel Gallery Records they were blown away. They got in touch with Γιάννης, offering him a deal for a full length album. This opportunity made him focus even more on the project. Five new tracks were added and all the EP's material was re-recorded and reshaped to follow a specific aesthetic. The music combines Prog Metal with symphonic and cinematic vibes.
A female voice (Andrea Krux), a saxophonist (Hugo Lee), two more guitarists [Steelianos Amoirides (ENEMY OF RIALITY) & Stelios Anatolitis and a string quartet (Esession Quartet) take part on the record. They add musical injections in specific parts, where deemed necessary to complete the album's sonic puzzle.
'Enter The Dreamlands': The first full length album
The full length «Enter The Dreamlands» is ready to be released. An album that balances between European and US Prog Metal of the 90s and 00s. The symphonic elements, the dreamy melodies and the great vocal performances create a gorgeous, shadowy musical portrait.
The album was mixed by Γιάννης Tziallas and John McRIS at Hell's Kitchen Studio in Athens and the mastering was done by Kostas Scandalis (HORIZON'S END, ex-WARDRUM) at Infinity Studio in Thessaloniki.
