The Ataraxia is an Italian ensemble of artists who explore and create music, poetry and visual works. They've devoted their lives to the “act of creation”. Today they released a new video for the track ‘Hlara Aralh‘, which is featured on the album ‘Pomegranate‘.
'We are wandering musicians inspired by geographical and inner journeys to places.'
The band continues to travel to places where music is an arrow launched by cosmic forces. They grew up in medieval villages and feel themselves standing at crossroads between Mediterranean and Celtic culture. Their artistic aim shifts from the earthly and duality, towards unity. It's a kind of alchemical mutation leading to an energetic order. Like other "sound craftsmen" they create an unusual blend of sacred and profane, ethereal and experimental, contemporary and old music.
Ataraxia Ataraxia have researched European legends, crossing Greek and Latin myths. Contemplation, dreamlike experience, twilight, ritual movements and meditative and hypnotic states float in the mysterious garden of the Soul and of
Desires. There, new textures of notes meet the echo of classic sounds. Their distinctive feature is the blending of acoustic instruments with modern ones. At the same time, their lyrics have been written in many ancient and modern languages.
