Immortalizer has put out a full-fledged album. The record, titled 'Born For Metal', contains all the single tracks he's already released.
The Immortalizer are back, completing their first album! The record titled 'Born For Metal' brings together the tracks they'd already released as singles, plus a few surprises!
Plain, straightforward Heavy Metal
I'm not saying anything against it, all the post, prog, extreme, atmospheric or whatever else is out there is nice and we're happy to listen to it when it comes with the word metal attached, but it's not so nice when what you're hearing is simply… Heavy Metal, is it?
One such case is the Canadian Immortalizer. Canadian in the plural, so to speak, since behind Immortalizer there's just one single person, Des Rochers or simply Dave D.R.. And the truth is that Dave has real talent, since the 'Born For Metal‘ is a record that doesn't suffer anywhere.
Solid music with plenty of twists and turns!
The album has really good compositions. It has a plurality of sounds, avoiding monotony. It has good technique on all instruments, good production, a voice that sits comfortably, and in the end it has all the elements of the Canadian heavy metal we love. As for songs, I'd single out the opener Out In The Streets, We Were Born For Metal (featuring Ralf Scheepers) and The Immortalizer. Which of course doesn't mean the rest of the record's songs aren't worthwhile.
All you unrepentant faithful of the sound, you'd do well not to skip ‘Born For Metal‘. For now, you can find it on the usual streaming platforms, and very soon on physical release too!
