The distinguished jazz harpist and composer Maria-Christina Harper meets up again with Harper Trio and returns with their second album, Dialogue of Thoughts. The record was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London and will be released on 24 Οκτωβρίου by Little Yellow Man Records. The announcement comes with the release of the first single, Walk.
Dialogue of Thoughts comes as the follow-up to the trio's award-winning debut, Passing By (2023).
The Dialogue of Thoughts comes as the follow-up to the trio's award-winning debut, Passing By (2023), an album that showcased the boldness, innovation and freedom of expression that characterises Harper's musical world. The album draws inspiration from Harper's Greek and Egyptian musical roots, as well as from the avant garde. On this album, Maria – Christina Harpershaped a unique sound – spiritually charged, drawing inspiration from ancient Greece, the Delphic maxims and the Orphic Hymns. An album full of bold experiments that redefine the harp's place in jazz music.
Featuring the acclaimed drummer Evan Jenkins and the dynamic saxophonist Josephine Davies, Harper stays true to her philosophy: prioritising live musical dialogue over showcasing the harp as the star instrument. The trio thrives on contrasts, tension and expressive nuance — but this time the material brings more drive, faster tempos and intense spontaneity. The result is a more collective sound, with shorter tracks.

Dialogue of Thoughts is a musical journey into consciousness, exploring both the struggle and the beauty of the search for inner peace
It reflects personal growth as well as the often chaotic reality of trying to stay present. "I describe this album as my personal mindfulness diary," says Harper. "Its restless soundscape mirrors the effort — sometimes successful, sometimes futile — to find calm through meditation."
The Walk is the first taste of the new album. Like every track on the record, it expresses the journey toward inner balance. "It's about persistence — about continuing to move forward, even when everything seems impossible," notes Maria-Christina. It's a dynamic, energy-packed track that "serves as a reminder to keep going, especially on the days when your inner strength seems to abandon you."
The Dialogue of Thoughts will be released on 24 October by Little Yellow Man Records digitally, on CD & vinyl
