The guitarist and founder of Firewind, Gus G, released the new video below, announcing his new solo album, titled 'Quantum Leap'. The record is expected to be released in October via AFM Records and will be entirely orchestral.
Commenting on the upcoming album, through which he has already released the singles "Exosphere" and "Fierce", the musician stated among other things:
"I'm really excited about this record. It was finally time for me to decide to compose a fully instrumental album. Many people kept pushing me in that direction and, to be honest, I kept rejecting the idea over and over.
But the current situation with the pandemic and everything else gave me ideas. Music was my only outlet, writing songs was the only thing I did. I couldn't travel to another country, collaborate with musicians, record, or anything like that, so I decided to do it all myself and make a guitar-driven record."
Dennis Ward and Vincent Velazco will be featured

As for the musicians featured on "Quantum Leap", Gus G revealed:
"I've got two fantastic musicians with me on this record. You already know one of them, it's Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Unisonic). We've worked together in the past, we've recorded two Firewind records together. We've been collaborating for the last five years. He contributes to composition and production. On my previous solo record, "Fearless" (2018), he played bass and sang.
I also have an outstanding drummer from England, Vincent Velazco. He's great, you've already heard him on the first two singles."
In addition, the guitarist revealed that another single will be released at the end of the month, which he said departs completely from metal sonically, while it's worth remembering that Firewind's last, self-titled record came out in May 2020.
