One of the most emblematic bands in American thrash metal comes to Greece for the first time. Atrophy play two shows in November, in Thessaloniki and Athens; the Athens date is Monday 30 November at An Club.
From the “Chemical Dependency” demo onwards, Atrophy drew a devoted following. Their first two releases, “Socialized Hate” and “Violent by Nature”, are now regarded as classic examples of the form and an inseparable part of its legacy.
The band’s original run was short, but the name never faded: their reputation grew over the years and both records remained reference points for old-school thrash. As the promoters put it — “prepare for total thrash”.
